Sorry non discord users, I don't think they have a matrix bridge atm
So I took a png and used `cjxl` v0.10.2 and `--distance==0 --effort==9` to convert it to a jxl file. And the result has color inaccuracies. I checked that both files use RGB. In the Black&White part of the images I cannot see any differences, it seems to really be something about colours o this specific image... Any idea what I could have done wrong?

Incredible improvements for a codec that was already far ahead. In the same way that JPEG has been given new life by mozjpeg and jpegli, I wonder how far the JPEG-XL codec is going to be stretched by better encoders in the near and far future.

Happy New Year everyone ! I just released a [new version of my android app jxlviewer](https://github.com/oupson/jxlviewer/releases/tag/0.4.0) ! This update bump libjxl version to v0.9.0. I also hacked a version of Simple Gallery that support jxl files. [Try it out !](https://github.com/oupson/Jxl-Gallery/releases/tag/1.1.0). My goal is to improve the android library, so that other app can use it safely, and then maybe add official support in Simple Gallery. [@jpegxl](https://lemmy.world/c/jpegxl) Will [#jpegXL](https://chaos.social/tags/jpegXL) need additional metadata when used with HTML's srcset? While the format's progressive rendering can do away with the need to have different files per resolution, browsers will instead need to know how much of the image they'll fetch. How would we pass that information to the browser? Extra syntax in srcset, eg `p.jxl, p.jxl \<2040 100w, p.jxl \<6974 200w` to tell that for a 100px wide view the browser needs to load the first 2040 bytes? Fragment identifier tricks?
