YES, methane stays in the atmosphere a shorter duration as methane, but most of it naturally breaks down into CO2 which then stays in the atmosphere just as long as all the other CO2. It is much worse than CO2 as a greenhouse gas.

Don't worry, your pessimism isn't totally misplaced. See that big "natural gas" line?
Natural gas is just a more palatable word for methane, and burning methane is still putting an enormous amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. But methane by itself is like 10x worse than CO2 and the EPA estimates as much as 10% of all methane for domestic use ends up in the atmosphere. Fun!

That's not run down, that's a warehouse. Is it falling apart? Is the flooring worn? Are the walls cracking? Ceilings leaking? That's what run down means, not whatever your weird complaint is about the decor and color scheme is.

Elden Ring. Been on a souls like kick, so decided to do another playthrough. Haven't played in over a year I don't think so it's time!

Zero points in the second half is a little concerning though. It ended up being enough but it's wild how they're struggling to score recently.

I'm sure plenty of people would understand it, but I'm struggling with a project at work where I've got an operator giving me bad data, and the project appears unsafe and I need to decide and convince my management if we're going to object to it or not.

Have an electrician come map your outlets. They find the connections in the breaker panel, then they trace them out to figure out where they go and what they do. Your contractor may be right, but as someone that bought a house that's over 100 years old, it's just as likely that the switch goes nowhere/isn't live, or powers something you'd NEVER think of, or powers something that you can't even see because someone put a drywall facade over it or some other weirdness!
We discovered that we had a LIVE outlet, under our living room floor. For some reason, at some point someone decided that needed an outlet literally in the middle of the living room floor (coffee table lame is my guess). The previous owner/flipper put feaux-hardwood laminate down in the whole house and instead of deactivating it, they just put the flooring right over the top of it and its live 100 year old cloth wrapped wires, leaving us a lovely little fire hazard! That outlet was controlled by, you guessed it, the mystery switch on the wall next to the front door that didn't seem to do anything.

Hay man thanks for taking the time to respond! Sorry for delay I was out of town and forgot to check this account. I stole some suggestions and it gave me some ideas for others!

Newsblur right now. I don't want ads, and I like the f-droid disabled the intrusive options from the playstore.
Any other reader recs? Not married to it by any means, I like it well enough. I don't like that I can't browse by folder or by everything without a premium subscription though. $99/year is extreme for my uses, wish there was a more palatable option for intermediate users. Still, it's easy enough to jump between topics.

Thanks! Yeah I figured I would ask in each of the communities in looking for content in vs mass asking in a larger forum. Thanks for the recs, I added several! Krebs, techspot, anandtech seem great!
Simple question - I'm finally getting an RSS reader running and I'm looking for good content feeds. Does the gaming community have any recommendations for good gaming content?
Suggestions for RSS feeds/content? Simple question - I'm finally getting an RSS reader running and I'm looking for good content feeds. Does the CFB community have any recommendations? I'm interested in many sports so it doesn't have to be CFB specific necessarily!

You are why downvotes should be more common on Lemmy. You're grossly misrepresenting the article and story.

Okay, I gave it a solid six hour test drive. There's a lot to like, but I gotta abe honest I'm still not loving it. I don't like that the nav bar is permanently stickied to the bottom, and I can't find a way to move it. Even on the android beta mode, I don't like that the icons are still iPhone themed, and I wish the color theming was more pronounced. I also wish you could re-tap to blur NSFW like you can in connect/thunder/eternity (probably my favorite feature in social scrolling apps). I do like that you can block communities with a long press but in my short testing I found it to be buggy - sometimes it works and sometimes it just vibrates but nothing happens - and I wish it was just an option in the three dots menu instead.
Despite the gripes, it is very slick though and I can see why people like it. I really like the sync-esque (though much less aggressive) use of negative space between posts, and the layout has a nice subtly to it that I think looks much nicer than Connect, on par with eternity. I'll be the first to admit that of the major apps Ive used (Thunder, Connect, Jerboa, Voyager, Eternity, sync) Connect's post layout is bottom three, but in terms of ease of use, quick navigation, and feature density it's my favorite, which is why I prefer it. I also like that in voyager, some lesser used options are a little shrunk/out of the way (like post sorting). It can be harder to find at first but options you won't touch often should be less pronounced IMO, and voyager does that really well. I didn't get any push notifications so I can't weigh on on how well that stuff works. Also the icon choices are FUCKING SWEET. I legit might steal one to use on my homepage.
I'm also waiting for boost! Really hoping they haven't abandoned ship on it, feels like they might've given up. That last UI update for boost before the shutoff was SO DOPE, and it always was my favorite Reddit App. Honestly I think I like connect because it's the most like boost. Nowhere near as polished, but almost every UI/interactive option is in the same spot or executed the same as it was on boost, so it feels the most intuitive to me.
