I'm tired of other fanbases whining about our "Mickey Mouse" ring when we know it was the toughest postseason in history.
It's funny when people say that. If it was so easy, then why didn't their team win?

A TFL-run rickshaw service is also something I'm hoping for. I used to see a lot of tuktuks when I worked in central London about 10 years ago. I think a lot of them weren't licenced or something?

Every time I walk through that car park, half the vehicles are those awful 4x4s. And I always think how nice it would be if all that tarmac was replaced with grass and wildflower beds and footpaths and cycle paths and bike stands and trees. But instead it's just a rogue's gallery of these monstrosities.
I wish there was some sort of e-cargo bike taxi service or something so that the "but how will I carry my shopping home" crowd don't have an excuse.

Right? As an example, when I switched to a plant based diet in 2014, if I wanted a vegan pizza or vegan doughnut, for example, I'd have to make them myself or seek out a specialist shop. Now these things are mainstream, even small supermarkets have them, Lidl even has vegan weeks every couple of months. That was unimaginable 10 years ago!
My actions back then did nothing alone, but it was the slow trickle of others cutting out animal products that added up and created this demand. And one person setting an example can encourage friends and family to give it a go.

I've been getting those warning emails for like two years, maybe more. Probably more actually. I just ignore them, my photos still work even if I don't use them anymore.

(Sorry for a screenshot of a lemmy post.) Just a reminder that the woman who lost to a lettuce thought that cancer patients should all be left to die if they can't go private.

They tried that over here with Brexit. Those darned immigrants stealing our jobs (while also just living off benefits, of course). EU citizens were like, screw this. They left, suddenly farmers were faced with their produce rotting in the fields, because guess what? The Brits don't actually want to do those jobs.
So what do you think happened next? They had to allow special visas to lure immigrants back in.
Meanwhile, the gammons were still raging that immigrants lower wages because they'll work for less pay than UK citizens.
Any recommendations? I don't know if I want to splash out on something expensive. I was thinking of getting some cheap tat to act more as a deterrent, but then I thought, what if I actually need the footage? My commute is pretty short, but the amount of drivers who are happy to risk my life to shave 5 seconds off their journey is a problem. Would any £5 cheapo camera make drivers think twice before trying to run me into the kerb or am I better off getting a decent quality camera? I'm cool with refurb/second hand.

Strange coincidence, I just scanned in a photo I found of my siblings' and my first bike. I taught myself to ride around age 9.
All I know is it's a Tri-ang, but I can't find any record of this model's existence online.
I'm a trainee bike tech now, and it pains me to see what bad shape that bike was in!

I bought a few junk vinyls just because I really like the texture. I was touching one on the tube home and my friend told me later I was causing visible distress to the man opposite.

Little cutie! What's his name? I bet he puts a smile on your face very easily. Little nutters, aren't they? Nothing like a hyper budgie telling everything in the room about its day! I'm glad you're doing better!
Here's my birb tax:
He turned 14 in April, I'm hoping he can make it to 15.
I've been at the point where I wanted to die, but never bad enough to actually try to make it happen.
Here's an article by the lovely Lene Marlin about her failed attempt:

I probably would have been diagnosed ARFID as a kid if it was a thing back then. But switching to a plant based diet ten years ago actually made me try MORE foods. Before that, it was tea and toast for breakfast, jacket potato or chips for lunch and crisps and chocolate for dinner. Maybe once or twice I week I might boil a bit of sweetcorn or carrot to go with my lunch. So yeah, very poor diet.
Even my mum, who was quite against my diet change at first, had to admit that it was the best thing for me. You tend to become more aware of what you're eating in terms of nutrition.
Also a lot of my physical and mental health problems eased up. I used to find it very difficult to eat breakfast if I had to wake up early, I'd feel sick and struggle to swallow food, I don't know why exactly, but after I switched, I can eat at 5 in the morning, no problem.
I'm not vegan (I eat a fish finger or two now and then, maybe 3 or 4 times a month), but yeah definitely I feel better in both mind and body since cutting out dairy and eggs (I know for a fact eggs were triggering my anxiety and low mood, dairy was the physical).
Here in the UK, it's much easier to follow a plant based diet in recent years. On the negative side, there's a lot more vegan junk food and highly processed meat alternatives available now.
The key to enjoying a plant based diet is to appreciate plant foods for what they are. Don't think that you need to replace your meat with a fake meat. It's more costly too.
Sorry for the essay. Good luck!

That was a great read, thank you for sharing that. My apologies to the man who suffered acute psychological lacerations, I'm about to cause one more by shamelessly stealing that line for my own use (my ancestors were also colonised by the English, so it's okay. I think?).

Disney has asked a Florida court to dismiss a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the husband of a Long Island doctor. The lawsuit claims that Dr. Kanokporn Tangsuan suffered a fatal allergic reaction after eating at a Disney Springs restaurant despite repeatedly informing the waiter of her severe allergy. Disney is calling for the lawsuit to be dismissed because her husband signed up for a one-month trial of the Disney+ streaming service years prior.
What the hell. I hope the judge tells Disney where to shove their arbitration clause.

Isn't banggood legit? I know the name looks suspicious as heck (well, if I didn't know better, I'd think it was an NSFW site), but I remember Atomic Shrimp using it for legit purchases. I'd never use it though. I think it's in the same stable as Ali express and that sort of thing.
I have a friend who's really into them, so I thought it would be a nice surprise if I could learn one of their songs for him. I'm just not familiar with their catalogue, so does anyone have any suggestions for where to start? My level is "advanced noob" :)
Not his first attempt, but I want to do whatever I can to encourage him to stay on the wagon this time. I don't have any experience of this, so I'd appreciate any tips from those who have been there already. Edit 02/10: he's still clean!
Wow, the difference in quality between the Squier and the Donner is incredible. It just feels so much smoother to play, I don't get the rattle and it just sounds and feels better overall. I'm confused by the reviews comparing the Donner to a p-bass. There's no comparison. I'm so glad I finally got my hands on my mini! It looks like a doll's toy next to the standard scale though! Oh and added bonus, the tone dial actually does something. I'm still having trouble offloading my Donner. I can't even trade it in.
"Bye my love you are so handsome. I am a 66 years old grandma."
"I watched another jelly doughnut video before this and nearly cried. It was a damn peach disguised as a doughnut with fig sandwiched between the fruit."
"Every time I worry that I'm loving life too much, I just watch the blossom opening. It makes me hate life instantly"
And there's still this much battery left. A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. I wasn't expecting it to still have any power left at all. I suppose with the sim out, all it was doing was powering the clock, but still! Unfortunately, I've had to retire it as my network won't connect on it anymore.
Uh oh!
Hey, guys. I paid $30 for some tabs, but they're way too hard for me to work out. It's mostly the timing I'm struggling with (I'm used to yousician and songsterr telling me when to play a note) and my ear isn't good enough to work it out just from listening to the original song. Is there any software that can either output the audio or even just add a timing guide like songsterr? Thanks.
Hi, hoping you might have some recommendations! I just play for fun and I'm very much a beginner. I'm not going to make any money out of playing, so I don't want to spend loads on pro gear. I just want something cheap to record my bass playing onto my PC just for my own personal practice. I've seen some guitar jack to USB cables on ebay. Are they any good?
