I went to the gym this afternoon. On the way home I pass a bus stop and a girl was sitting there. There was also a man standing right around the corner of the bus stop.

He immediately made me feel weird. He also had his bicycle standing next to hem. I thought that was odd because why would you have your bicycle with you at the bus stop. It's not that common.

Anyway I didn't trust it so after walking on for 20 meters or so I turned around to look. He was standing there FUCKING JACKING OFF. Like what the actual fuck man. This wasn't some bus stop in the middle of nowhere either. It's a fairly busy road.

I ran towards him and pushed him to the ground yelling: 'what the fuck are you doing you weirdo'. He got up, ran to his bike and took off. Don't know if the girl even noticed what happened as she was wearing headphones staring into her phone, and he was sneaked up behind the corner.

If I were a women I swear to God I wouldn't leave the house without a weapon.

He died fighting on the front lines, above ground, wielding an AK. He died fighting until the last breath, with his arm blown off, throwing grenades at IDF soldiers and throwing a stick at an IDF drone.

    Rest in power.

It's one of my caveats with regards to nuclear energy. Because last I checked Western European countries don't have uranium reserves. I know Africa isn't the only source of uranium for these countries but when you look at how Niger's uranium sources are or were managed you can ask yourself questions about its cleanliness.

I'm not that involved in the formulating of the questions so I will leave that to the other admins to discuss but one thing I do want to address is the functionality of them.

You'd be surprised how many dumb ass applications get turned down before people are able to make an account and start shit on this site. Dozens of bad faith accounts have been filtered out this way and it's mich easier to do then to remove comments, posts, etc that get potentially made afterwards.

Well I don't get them, I call in sick. And I most of the time do it for a cold too. First of all because I think we should normalise not working when feeling unwell, second because I don't want to infect others either. I see hundreds of people through work on a weekly basis so me feeling sick can turn into hundreds of people feeling sick and I think that's pretty selfish.

If my place of work has an issue with that, that's up to them. My health and that of others is more important to me. We people work enough already and we should take back some selfrespect.

  • Our nationwide municipality results and what it means for us
  • DankZedong DankZedong 5d ago 100%

Well the relationships are a bit tricky.

On a Flanders and federal level the socdems and the greens are pretty much slandering us, saying they will never work with us and that we are an extremist party. On a local, municipal level though we are working together with them in at least two municipalities, and with success. So the local chapters are a bit more reasonable.

On a Brussels level their equivalents are more reasonable too and I expect them to invite us to work together, so we will probably govern some Brussels municipalities.

On a Walloon level the same basically. I think it's because Brussels and Wallonia are much more left leaning. The Flanders socdems are parading behind the neolibs. Their chairman got involved in a scandal earlier this year when he drunkenly asked policemen to beat Roma people in his hometown. Very nice person, not extremist at all.

So there are options, especially locally. But I won't go as far as to say we have a good relationship. We are open to govern together with them if possible but most of the time that's a one way street and there is no favor returned.

Still, as we keep growing it will be hard for them to ignore us. Especially since the only options they'll have left will be neolibs and that will eventually cost them their voters I guess.

  • Yesterday I made two posts regarding the Belgian municipality elections. They mainly focussed on Antwerp, my city, and the result that we got there (20.2% of the votes). I felt a little disappointed yesterday because of weeks of talks of possibly becoming the biggest party but after a good night's sleep I feel really proud of managing such a grow and becoming the second largest party. As a true Antwerpenaar I also need to remind myself of other places in Belgium existing (Belgians will understand this joke) and today the rest of the results are known. I want to highlight some of the other noteworthy results we managed to get. In Antwerp we also have, as the only municipality in Belgium, elections in our city's district. Last elections we manage to get a really good position in Borgerhout and we even got to govern the past few years together with the socdems. As a reward for the things we achieved, we are now the BIGGEST party in the district. In the district of Hoboken we also managed to become the second biggest party. In Brussels and its' municipalities we also get really good scores. We keep growing in Molenbeek, Jette, Saint-Gilles, Forest, Anderlecht, Ixelles, Brussels City and Schaarbeek. In Molenbeek, Saint-Gilles and Forest we even managed to get over 20% of the votes. We are able to govern there if other parties want to. In Wallonia we also keep growing in the big cities of Namur, Charleroi and Liège. In the cities of Herstal and Seraing we even manage to get 30% and 26% of the votes. In places like Saint-Nicolas and La Louvière we also get 20% and 19,2%. In the city of Moeskroen we got over 20% of the votes, which is noteworthy not only because of the score, but also because it was the first time ever competing in the municipalities there. All in all we keep growing at a really great pace. We have chances to govern in several municipalities and district. My opinions on electoral politics aside we can be really proud of the results we got. It will give us chances to keep growing and the show what we are capable of.

Belgium is working towards new laws regarding sex work, making the workers eligeble for pensions, healthcare plans, contracts and overall more legal status. This was done in corporation with sex workers, orgs surrounding sex work and my place of work, the Union. Now, I worked with former sex workers and human trafficking victims myself and I am aware of their struggles. I am not going to outright deny their right to fight for improvement. What bugs me is the normalization of an industry that is heavily, and I mean very heavily, infested with human rights abuses. For every one empowered sexworker there are a thousand human trafficking victims. Giving them a pension is not helping in the slightest. And then there is the whole thing of tying things like unemployment benefits to you wanting to look for work. Here in Belgium your benefits can be cut as soon as you refuse a job that is offered to you through government instances. What if we further legitimize sex work and you refuse a sex worker position? There have been caes already of the instances offering unemployed actresses porn jobs, so why not offer them sex workers contracts? And why not cut their benefits of they refuse a fitting job? Right? And everyone is so happy about it. As if the whole industry is one collective of happy people doing a fun job instead of the horror it is. Sorry for ranting but fuck me what a mess

I haven't read it and I want to though I don't feel like ordering yet another book as I have done so a few times in the past weeks. I found a pdf which seems to be the book but I also found that other versions are longer/have more pages. Anyone that can provide me with a link?
