The new rules also say you’re not allowed to report content for things that aren’t a violation of the terms of service. So if you report a content for being racist, that’s against the rules.

I can't see any history discussing the change before today, but the posts from before today also seem to be more inclusivity-minded than this one. Maybe it's just a huge oversight and they forgor. But it's definitely not a nice look. The new rules also say you're not allowed to report content for things that aren't a violation of the terms of service. So if you report a content for being racist, that's against the rules.

I don't understand what's gruelling about veganism. Roast potatoes, fried mushrooms, spaghetti and pasta, yummy tofu cooked in soy sauce with spices, chips, pizza, hamburgers, ramen, coffee, hot chocolate, trail mix, sandwiches, and toast are all or all can be vegan and are plenty cheap.

It's actually untrue. Consensus reality is a social construct created by the white supremacist state. Science and truth are left wing, but reality is right wing, because reality is incompatible with science and truth. Reality is what the white colonisers brought to Australia and the new world along with god and capitalism.

At no point in Skyward do they dogfight in a firing line. Cobb puts the students in a line to teach them discipline, coordination, and maneuvering. He criticised the teaching style of other instructors who let the students dogfight right away. Cobb believed in hammering in the fundamentals until they were instinct, and only then allowing them to actually fight. This is sensible military doctrine.

    Skyward is a great book.

it’s just a sentiment I always feel and desire to express

Yeah, but if you express it at all times in unrelated threads that's called spam and people don't like it.

The money spent to buy Teslas will go to the workers at a fair rate when the workers unionise. Until then, you're pretty much just paying Musk. You're not paying the workers.

we eat meat because we can

Truly the greatest reason anyone has had to do anything.

    and well, also should.

Because we evolved to do it? Are you saying we should do every single thing we evolved to do? Let me just go shit in the woods and die in childbirth then I guess

If modern society falls I'd like to see the vegans after about a year

Gee fucking whiz, maybe the morality of an action depends on context and the available choices. Maybe doing unpleasant things to survive in an apocalypse is actually completely reasonable. Or maybe, just maybe, killing someone to save your own life is still bad.

If killing animals for food is evil then all cats, lions, dogs, and generally all predators are evil.

Evil is a choice. The sun isn't evil for giving people skin cancer. Volcanoes and hurricanes aren't evil. And neither are nonsapient animals that can't just choose to eat meat. If you want to be treated as the equal of a cat then go shit in sand and live off mice. Or, use your big brain to actually do something good.

If you want to realistically improve the lives of farm animals, then go for laws on better treatment while they live.

Yeah, sure. Let's start with a few simple policies to help out the animals: no milking, no forced pregnancy, no genetic engineering to make them lay eggs every day, and no killing. That should help the animals out.

  • It is a requirement when you take a driving test that the assessor judge what you are looking at. That way, they can see if you're checking for hazards. This is impossible. My attention does not move with my head. My retinas contain more light sensing rod cells at the periphery, which are better at detecting movement and hazards. People are better at sensing hazards at the edge of their field of view. It is impossible for an assessor to see a driver check for hazards at the edge of their view. In order to pass a test, I must move my attention, my eyes, and my whole head when I look in the mirror or for other hazards. This is slow. I have autism. My attention already moves slowly. The added distraction of doing this is dangerous. I might as well be looking at my phone for all the trouble it causes me with paying attention. Driving tests are fundamentally flawed and the job assessors are asked to do is impossible. You cannot see someone's attention move when they are driving optimally. Driving tests require drivers to drive worse.

I recently finished Enterprise season 3, and oh gods that was a slog at the end. Like 5 plot-heavy episodes in a row! No fun, no whimsy, no exploration. It's the least star-trekky I have ever seen Star Trek. So I finished it, and thought "can we see some strange new worlds now?" And then Archer was taken prisoner by nazis and I was all "oh no, is this going to be season 4?" But that got resolved in two episodes and I was glad. But now there's an augment arc? Please tell me it ends soon so we can get back to the strange new worlds. I have the same problem with SNW, to a lesser extent. Too much klingon war stuff, not enough strange new worlds. Lower Decks has the perfect amount of strange new worlds, though, they visited a Halo this season! It was perfect. Imma give up on Enterprise if there's a whole season of augment drama.

Narcissistic Personality Disorder is a lifelong disability and one of the most hated disabilities there is. Subjected to the most brutal stereotyping, which claims that narcissists are inherently evil or abusive. The mechanism of NPD is that without unconditional love from one's parents, one cannot develop unconditional self-love, which is part of a healthy ego. Narcissists were abused by our parents, and as a result have false, fragile, and unstable egos. The inability to withstand normal ego damage such as constructive criticism or friendly banter, is socially isolating and transforms a narcissist's perception of social life. Worse, hateful stereotypes lead to abuse of narcissists by the public in the form of harassment, social isolation, intimate partner abuse, villification, and ego attacks intentionally designed to take advantage of a narcissist's disability. The term "narcissism" entered the public vernacular with Christopher Lasch's 1979 book The Culture Of Narcissism, which claims that clinically diagnosable narcissism (NPD) is becoming more common and more acceptable in american culture. This kickstarted a wave of self-help books which sold the idea that all your struggles in life are caused by evil disabled people trying to abuse you. Today, websites like Quora continue to sell this narrative, and it is used by politicians to attack their opponents. Throughout all of this nearly 50 year process, anti-NPD propaganda has seeped into the public, leading to common use of the word, including by people unaware that the villification they hear is of disabled people. Many attack "narcissists" without realising the narcissists they've been warned about by these books or other zealots are mentally disordered. Others gleefully state that they are fully aware of the connection, and that they do intend to attack the mentally disordered as they believe NPD causes evil. !fucknarcissism does not have any posts, but it already has 45 subscribers.

The anarchist code of coduct says: What is Unacceptable: Degrading, disrespecting, or insulting another person or group of people, because of their : [...] - Political opinion So, being a nazi is a political opinion. Denying the holocaust or thinking it should be done again is a political opinion. Thinking jewish people control the media and trans people aren't real is a political opinion. Am I correct in gathering that it's against the rules to disrespect someone for having these opinions? Is it against the rules to say "nazis suck"? Because I don't like that.

A month ago, I made a post asking that c/twoXchromosomes be removed from the instance due to known concerns with the name in regards to trans people, and the mods' stated intention not to compromise on the name. Since then, the community's mods have gone inactive. u/Justincase_2008@lemmy.world has only two posts on the website, and the most recent one is 2 months ago. u/GreatWhiteBuffalo41 has not commented on the site in 22 days, and has not been active on c/twoXchromosomes for 2 months. There have been 4 posts to the community in the time since my post about the community name a month ago. The modlog shows no mod activity in 2 months. I would like to appeal to the admins that I may take over the community, set it to restricted mode, and make the only post on the community a sticky explaining the problems with the name and redirecting to other feminist communities across the Fediverse.
