You leave Terry Crews out of this.

100% our first kind of fought it until he was ready. Then it was like a week pantsless before he had daytime peeing done. Pooping was a separate deal. He REALLY didn't want to go in the toilet but when he turned 3 we just told him no more diapers and we followed through with it. It took about 2 days and he was over it but they were rough.
Nighttimes were also pretty quick, we did liner, sheet, liner, sheet and had extra pillows and blankets ready for him. He probably only had 10ish accidents and has been dry since.

Thank you Junior. Don't forget to wear you shoes when you go play in the asbestos pit at school. I put two cigarettes in your lunchbox you can have one at lunch if your teacher says its okay and one on the way to home after your shift at the radium watch painting factory.

I diagree, at current tech/time energy storage is the problem with peaky production methods like wong and solar.
You need capacity and quick spinup capacity for when demand occurs off peak production. Nuclear is the only green option with current tech for large scale. Fuel cells would be ideal when powered with electrolyzed h2 created by excess solar generation capacity but the tech isn't there yet and we need something now.
Thermal energy storage and pumped hydro are both viable but spatially problimatic or expensive in the long term. IMO, micro grids with local solar as the source are where we should be going but local storage is an issue even where sun is abundant.

Not a stretch at all given they killed public transit in a number of American cities.

That is one thing I don't get about the pushback on EVs. You can absolutely make your own electricity, you can't make your own gasoline or diesel. Yes, biodiesel is a thing and you can brew your own alcohol but that requires energy, time, and more or less single purpose equipment. Solar and an EV are more or less a single step and completely passive. You can even make the solar partially mobile if you wanted.

All of that is true but there are entire genres of science fiction that people grew up on telling them that nuclear waste is scary green stuff that will do everything from melt your skin off to turn you into the toxic avenger. A major chunk of the population only knows about nuclear waste from that and doesn't care what experts say.
Modern nuclear facilities and storage devices ARE safe but when you bring it up, people will just go "Yeah but Fukushima/Chernobyl, happened, I don't want that to happen in my neighborhood" completely ignoring the fact that the soviet design was flawed from the start, and the Japanese one was located in a Tsumnami zone.
As for other industrial waste, its not visible to the average person so it doesn't exist. We are finally coming to the realization of how pervasive in the environment some of these chemicals are. PFAS/PFOS is basically everywhere, coal fly ash leaks all the time, creosote is essentially on every railroad track, leachate is entering ground water from old land fills, dioxin and mercury so prevalent on the gulf coast that eating the seafood is harmful. But again, none of that is visible. The East Palestine derailment was visible and nothing changed afterwards.
Humanity in general but industrialists in particular destroyed the planet and got paid go do it, then put the bill on the average person when cleanup came.
Nuclear is going to be needed 100% but it is an uphill battle. I hope the battle gets easier and the safety record continues to get better.

Counterpoint is some of the stuff produced in the 70s and 80s was garbage. Now what you do have is survivorship bias, meaning if it lasted this long, it can be reasonably assumed to continue to last. If you got a good one from any period and it is still good now, yeah, its probably worth the price to someome who wants it.

John Dies at the End is a good b/c/campy movie. It is absolutely not 1:1 to the books (which are good) but its a weird fun movie.

I was hanging out in a park by a river one night with some friends, just grilling and watching the stars, chill night in nature. We heard a sound like a sorority group laughing and walking around near our camp. At first we didn't think too much of it since we were in a public park near a college town.
I got up to grab something out of my truck and saw the glowong eyes in the dark and quickly realized that was not a group of college girls but a pack of coyotes scoping out our food/cooler/us. We packed up the truck and noped out pretty quick after that.

We all do/should. I don't know if it has gotten worse or if I have just started to realize how bad it actually is but, this state sucks in a lot of ways.
My 7 month son got croup and has been in an out of the ER twice this week. Its currently midnight and is getting another nebulizer dose before we get moved to a room. Hes doing better but its been rough. We are gonna be here at least another day for observation this time which is way better than getting sent home again to see how he does. Here's hoping he kicks its ass and gets over this quick. It sucks seeing my little guy sick like this. Edit: he's doing a lot better today. They were doing the nebulizer every two hours and its been almost 7 without it now. Fingers crossed we are over the hump. Thanks for the support y'all.

We lost power around 4:30 A.M. and have one fence panel down but are holding on okay otherwise.
No zoom, it let me get that close. Xperia 5v.
Happy Father's day y'all. To celebrate I am doing a 9ish lb boston butt on my vision smoker with hickory chips and oak charcoal. Its been on for about 4 hours so far. I have some wings waiting on this lovely hunk of flavor to get closer to done so I can pull it and wrap it before getting the chicken on.
Need for speed underground 2 is to thank for my intro to QotSA, great track and good driving song.
I am not sure who the op was but its an epic picture.
25.5" scale neck, poplar body, coil tapping pickups, knockoff floyd from guitar fetish. The body was dyed using angelus leather dies (recommended by BigDGuitars on yt) it was a good first project to learn on and a lot of fun to make. Picture was taken before I installed the control knobs but it really pops in the sun. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/9bbc687a-84f9-4a18-bc92-e6cebd53b593.jpeg)

I am swapping a seadoo rotax 255hp motor into a kawasaki stx hull and I needed a way to set the axial, angular, and radial position of the thru hull seal so I printed up some guides to hold the tube on the driveshaft while I fiberglassed it in. It worked brilliantly. ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/185e7fb3-da12-4676-9651-96752807477f.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/f0348226-7b6a-4c03-a76c-4f6efce5eb5c.jpeg) ![](https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/9021e70d-f27d-4c8c-a767-e5969882fa76.jpeg)
