    It's a great big universe
    And we're all really puny
    We're just tiny little specks
About the size of Mickey Rooney
It's big and black and inky
And we are small and dinky
    It's a big universe, and we're not!

Also for iOS, News Explorer. It uses iCloud to sync between your devices, everything is on device, and it will even somehow do Reddit feeds! (Uh, I mean, if you still do that, maybe…). One time payment. Glorious.

If it’s that blue, yeah, take it in. Could be a dud. My idea on the color filters was to make it better for you.

    • Camera bump: look at a small case, there are a couple that allow you to place it flat. And the case can solve the grip problems too.
    • Action button: then have it do something else. Mine turns on the flashlight on if I press it once, takes a screenshot and offers to send it to a list of friends, if I press twice.
    • Screen: look at color filters in the Accessibility settings. you can change it some. But it should be exceedingly close (476 vs 460). Might you be running a matte screen protector by any chance?

What hysterical was that I was listening to the BBC World Service hourly cast (5 minute summary) and they mentioned everything BUT the colonialism aspect.

Nope, but not bad. The free states wanted them to not count for representative purposes, since they couldn’t vote.

    From Wikipedia:

Slave holding states wanted their entire population to be counted to determine the number of Representatives those states could elect and send to Congress. Free states wanted to exclude the counting of slave populations in slave states, since those slaves had no voting rights. A compromise was struck to resolve this impasse. The compromise counted three-fifths of each state's slave population toward that state's total population for the purpose of apportioning the House of Representatives, effectively giving the Southern states more power in the House relative to the Northern states.

They DID! LaserWriter 1600. I had one with over 750k pages on it. HP laser guts, they popularized Postscript and made WYSIWYG a thing for printing.

But it’s now commodity. Not enough money in it when Brother is crushing it.

No affiliation, just following them on Bandcamp and saw this, this morning. A little harsher than their self-titled.

Only a couple post-rock albums for me. But good on GIAA for releasing an album today! Including the others because hey, isn’t the old saying “math rock is just post rock with more Tapping?“ **shikimi** by te' (math) **Embers** by GOD IS AN ASTRONAUT **Mantles** by Layers in Lairs (math, asiwyfa/battles is my reference) **Girlfriends** by Girlfriends (tappy math) **Star Showers On The Euphrates** by *Ancients (so good) **Rosewood** by Kaguu

I’m fortunate enough to be able to support bands by buying their albums. Especially today, when Bandcamp doesn’t take a cut. Here’s my Math rock portion. shikimi by te' - Japanese instrumental post/Math Rock. Busy and fun. More on the rock side of things. Mantles by Layers in Lairs - like Battles and ASIWYFA had a kid. Bearcubbin-related, another new band to me. Girlfriends by Girlfriends - came really recommended. Tappy goodness. Alas, a one-shot. Rosewood by Kaguu - Math/Prog EP that’s upbeat and whimsical.

Didn’t expect to ever see these guys on tour, but they have a handful of dates here. And yes, the name is a play on American Football And Abelia (Dallas support) is great, saw them at Plus Fest. Looks like the support bands are local to their area Music: https://chinesefootball.bandcamp.com/ Article: https://www.brooklynvegan.com/chinese-football-announce-first-ever-north-american-tour/

Free livestream, here's Saturday's video.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YNKIcVHQ56M. > > Sunday has The Ocean again, but also Ihsahn. I'm psyched to see Spurv, Briqueville, and EF. Parts remind me of Battles, but also Zefs Chasing Cara. Electronic-twinged math-rock.

twinkly math-pop with vocals. Guitar effects sometimes remind me of ASIWYFA. Surprisingly nice.

I have no idea why this is in my library, but I came across it trying to figure out which artists I listened to qualified as math rock, and these guys sound like a combination of Battles and Legos, at least this track does.

Unsure where I came upon this, but thought I would share. Post rock with some horn, probably would file it under “crescendocore“, reminds me a bit of We Lost The Sea. Takes a bit to get started, but that last track is a monster.

Kudos to everyone at @AndysDenton for throwing an amazing day one of Plus Fest. I got to see Cloutchaser, Invalids, Space Corolla, Elders, Abelia, Donella Drive and more! Invalids put on a fantastic show ( I love tappy math rock, and several of the bands met that bar for me - the photo is of some triple-tapping action courtesy of Invalids) but I was super impressed with everyone. If you get the chance next time, do go! It’s a really small venue, great staff, and a lot of heart and hard work. Thanks y’all!

Just found out a couple of weeks ago that the band Invalids is going on tour starting this week! They are playing the entirety of Eunoia, at least at the show in Denton, Texas. I found them when Permanence came out, so I’m looking forward to it I’ll be honest, I’m not a huge fan of the vocals, but it definitely is tappy math-rock, which is my go-to. Hope some of y’all can make the various shows. And the show in Denton also has Clout Chaser, so it ought to be interesting. :)

Nice compositions, good tapping, great instrumentals and shredding. I think this counts as djent/prog-metal, posting it here first. How the heck have I missed this?

I am looking at these two, trying to find a deal on the Pro 2022 that makes it close to the price of the 13" 2024 Air. Right now the "deals" are still in the $999 range for it, as opposed to $800 for the Air. Which sucks - seems like the 2022 is still better, but $200 is $200. I have a pro 10.5" now, but the lure of bigger has finally won out, years later. Trying to see if I'm missing anything - on paper the 2022 is still better, even if older. Advantages of the Pro 2022: - FaceID, not TouchID - Promotion display (120hz vs the Air's 60hz) - can run external display Advantages of the Air 2024: - Cheaper - Newer - supported longer? - ? Anything else?
