The worst about ideation for me is that a few days/weeks/months later, I'm almost always thinking "I was willing to do that? Because of XYZ? That would've been so fucking stupid!"
But in the moment your brain can just be like "topping yourself is clearly the only logical solution" and make you actually believe that shit.
It's wild.
Sorry, I realise this is a bit off topic.

I dunno, I have so many USB c chargers and cables around that I bin them every time a device comes with another cable.

Yes I completely understand that. But it also undermines the "give your older laptop a new life with Linux" narrative that's out there at times. It's actually not that easy. I'm happy running Linux but I wouldn't put it on my moms old laptop..

This is my life right now.
I put Linux on my HP laptop...
Speakers give weird sound Media keys don't work Worst of all: ever since I updated the laptop somehow crashes my router? Like, I don't even know how this is possible, but it's happening.
I'm not an idiot but all the solutions to getting these seemingly basic things to work as intended are extremely contrived.

I used to be very skinny, like 58 kgs at 186. I met my wife when I was 18 and she loves skinny dudes 😂
Regardless, I did feel self conscious about my skininess because I was bullied for it in school. I've both accepted myself, but I also gained about 15kg of muscle by doing starting strength. I'm by no means ripped, but I do feel like I carry myself with more confidence and that goes a long way.
Also, my dude, take this from someone in a 20 year relationship... Looks are neat and all, but finding someone you can actually stand, spend a lot of time and plan a life with is a significantly more worthwhile trait to pursue.

I know I'm in the wrong for missing her text
You are not.
Source: 20 years of a successful marriage.
Your partner has some issues she seems to need to work through. Entertaining her delusions probably won't help her.

It's also the fault of neoliberal governments around the world for actively looking down on middle class people for not caring as much about the climate, refugees and other matters that you can care about when you actually have enough money to have the time to care about those things.

I think a quick look overseas will show you it's migrants, the queer community, women, and to a certain extent any intellectual. Now where have I seen this before.

The right has a fuckload, Jordan Peterson to Tate, Joe Rogan and Ben Shapiro and those are probably just the ones I've seen on the right as a lefty.
I could name a single left wing person that's trying to teach men how to be good humans. Because as you said, men also suffer under the patriarchy.

I'm not surprised by the male/female gap. The past decade, young men have been told that white men are the worst thing to be. The left has not provided any role models for young men.
The right has many.
My neighbour has a cat called Stevie. Stevie hangs out with us a lot and we look after him when my neighbour is away. Yesterday we found Stevie very unwell in our garden. We took him to the neighbour and she immediately rushed him to the vet. She mentioned the vet was 200 dollars which was a big unexpected expense for her. Her son's birthday is on Monday and she won't be able to do anything for his birthday now. My wife and I are fortunate enough for 200 dollars to not be a lot of money for us and we want to help, but I'm unsure how. One option would be that we leave her a little card with 100 dollars and write that we wanted to help because we care about Stevie too. Another idea is we ask her to do some gardening for us (that's her job, and we're too busy to do it ourselves right now). I don't want her to feel patronised or awkward about any of this... Happy to take insights.
I literally can not wait for this. Cycling there is so awful. Suck a shame they don't do a town centre upgrade. The Grey Lynn shops could use some love.
Went her as a side trip on the Rees Dart track from Queenstown. It was a pretty grueling ascent from the hut, climbing almost 1000 metres on scree and rocks. The 18 km round trip took us quite a while! This hike (5 days total) was absolutely stunning.
Neighbours recently had their home remodelled, which involved them putting new glazing in their bathroom. The glass is not frosted enough and there's a lot to see. They are large windows too, starting at knee hight. How do I bring this up? Bonus points if someone can tell me why this community keeps showing my subscription as pending.
Should be some snow capped volcanos there somewhere....
