Someone just posted another shot of this outpost set in another biome, probably from an ISC:
These are supposed to come with 3.20 right?
I still look at the SC subreddit because there's not a lot of action here on Lemmy yet (just being honest). It seems like there's a lot of upset people these days. We've been going through a pretty big dry spell for development, so I'm sure that contributes. I just wish people weren't so dramatic about it.

Lots of great visuals in this ISC.

It's cool to see the process and that artists can make fully functional items quickly. Hopefully they build more things that make better use of space.

Whoever had the idea to sell stuff like this should be fired.

Yeah, if people don't like it, they shouldn't use it. End of story. It's not really a big deal.
Use the app you like. Sync is the only one that really works flawlessly for me so I'll support it.
If people ever want Lemmy to become mainstream, they're going to start support some of the more mainstream features.

For example, building up strength will allow players to carry heavier objects with fewer penalties
Sounds like we're getting very Tarkovy

Personally, I want to see better bounty hunting. What we have now are just kill missions and there's not much finesse to it.
I want to have to track my prey down to somewhere inside a bustling city or outpost, or find where they're hiding in an abandoned asteroid mining facility. Missions should go through several stages, where we have to track down and interrogate outlaws that might know where our target is. I'd also like to see apprehension missions be worth a lot more than kill missions.
I think there's a lot they can still do with this profession!
Right now we have T1 or T0 for the following: - Bounty Hunting - Mercenaries - Piracy - Trading - Mining - Salvage - Racing - Medical/Rescue - Refueling - Repair We're still missing mechanics for: - Exploration - Smuggling - Data Courier - Passenger Transportation Am I missing anything else? It's kind of crazy to think we have at least T0 of so many game mechanics now. What are you most looking forward too? This can be either unimplemented or gold standard or any mechanic.

Wow really good production values! Well earned MVP!

Such a good idea to try and bring everyone together! Lemmy is going to end up with little duplicate communities everywhere, but that doesn't mean we can't all sun everywhere!

Gotta love the short guides.
I gotta give a sub to anyone that goes against the algorithm and just makes good content.

There's something about this gameplay loop that is super fun. Just be real careful if you have to go to the salvage yard.
But if you have a couple friends, it makes the game great when they have to come give you protection. This is how the game is supposed to be played!

CIG has put good effort into making shops be destructible in the best ways that they can, so it makes sense that they would be working on a T2 or T2 version of all that.
I think ships will always have specific segments that break apart, so I'm really curious to know more about what exactly this "maelstrom" is. Maybe now that Sean talked about it, they'll release a more detailed overview.
As an FPS enthusiast, it's nice to hear more discussion about Star Marine and things like capital ship boarding. They also addressed directly the issues with AC/SM servers and that they have a few critical issues to address to improve their performance. The most exciting thing from this for me was the discussion around the possibility of using the experimental modes in AC/SM for a capital-ship boarding mode! It's great to seem them finally realizing the power of these modes and moving towards doing something with them.

As funny as it may sound, I'm mostly interested in FPS. SC has all the aspects of the best shooter games out there... CIG just needs to make it work right. Loot like Tarkov, movement a lot like PUBG, the concept of PvP across an entire planet surface... what's not to love? And I really like the direction towards more realistic movement and injuries. Games like COD just aren't that fun anymore and I'm looking for something that you need to put a little more thought and effort into to be successful.
Unfortunately FPS is in a really bad state, with all the bunny hopping in AC and server desync in PU. NPC bunker missions can be fun when the NPCs work, but it's usually just like shooting mannequins.

Yeah I remember when we were amazed that they were getting to around 300 employees. It was hard to see how CIG was paying for everything back then, let alone 1100. If the average cost of employment is only $50,000 a head, that's still like $55 mill a year. Lets hope funding continues to grow! 😀 buy more ships.

I think there's a threshold for how often a remake is needed.
There are a lot of people that never played Resident Evil 4. It was like, old school PlayStation. The remaster was substantial and not only completely changed the game, but also brought it to a whole new generation.
Dead Space was just a cash grab and the old game was fine. I never even considered buying it.
Just like all games: vote with your wallet. We don't have to buy absolutely everything that gets released.

That will never happen. We created capitalism and globalism. The genie is out of the box and it's not going back in... not until the planet is destoryed. Just try to enjoy what we have while it lasts.
