not suprised, E-mail has been on that downward spiral for a while. The only thing keeping that alive is many independent E-mail servers.

I hate this article since it compares to XMPP. A much more accurate comparison would be seething like E-mail, I believe.

I get it... I'm likely going to block meta instances from the servers I have whenever I have time to figure out how to.

No I just don't see meta wanting to compete in those fields

Activity pub is more than just mastodon, there is book ratings, and also peertube.

I don't see meta ever going there.

I'm still trying to figure out meta's Intention's, I have no problem meta monetizing their app. There is zero problems there.

Not really, they're businesses that sell fediverse hosting, right?

You do realize that most of these projects are funded by cooperations, right? You do realize that the EU has a mastodon instance, right? You do realize that Mozilla has a mastodon instance, right? You also realize that mastodon is a cooperation rigbt? (Granted it is a nonprofit).

You do realize that most mastodon instantces are in some way affilated with a cooperation, right? Just by proxy. Using their servers, etc

I can't figure out what meta wants to actaully do.

    I can't decipher fully.

If your a big instance and don't want to waste bandwidth, just block them.

If you want meta, block them from the federated timeline if you desire.

No one will guide you in what to do with your fedi instance.

Plus knowing meta, they'll problary select a handful of instances to federate with. Meaning this plan is stupid.

I think meta just wants to captailize on twitters demise.

I don't see how crushing activtypub would help them in anyway.

Mastodon is already massive and many companies (and the EU) have their own instance.

Plus this isn't like its XMPP or something where people actaully care who they're talking to. I really don't.

GOG is doing much better than in 2022
    https://www.gog.com/en/news/gog_2023_update_2_facts_and_numbers_of_2022_copy3?r=true

Gog is doing much better than in 2022. They are making 1.2M dollars in profit. Which is pretty good for such a platform personally. I really like the ideals of GOG, but haven't really used the platform a whole lot. If you want a markup of what this actaully means see [here](https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/05/gog-reveal-some-stats-on-how-theyre-doing/)

This video shows that Reddit refused to delete all comments and posts of its users when they close their account via a CCPA / GDPR request. This is absolutely insane, and shows that companies OWN you.
