Agree about the player custom character during dialogue. The facial animations are terrible considering the face options are predefined. Other characters though look great IMO. Not TLOU2 level face capture but fantastic for an isometric RPG

I don't really see how what you're describing relates to patient gaming -- isn't patient gaming moreso to do with waiting until games drop in price, then getting them patched up with all their DLC?

Skill Up is a good one. Digital Foundry also has a weekly show that covers news, which I find is well done.

You can also create an RSS feed from any subreddit by adding .rss to the URL. I check r/games from feeder a few times a week just to see the top news stories.

Tom Scott would be my top pick for quality YouTube not tied to a specific hobby. His videos are great.

Aparently not -- the store page doesn't say it requires a third party launcher (which it says for EA and Rockstar Games), only that you'll need a battle.net account, which you could create online. A journalist has also confirmed this on twitter, although I don't have a link right now.

It's quite similar to Obsidian, if you're familiar with that.
It's a notetaking app that lets you visualize how your notes are related to each other, and gives you plenty of options for formatting.
It's quite neat to play around with, but probably overkill for daily note taking, unless you appreciate the UX.
We believe that any software should support fundamental digital freedoms. With the rise of cryptography and computer systems, it is now possible to guarantee these freedoms in the world of bits: privacy of thoughts, freedom of speech, right to authorship, and autonomy from software providers. These rights can be encoded into the code, which when open, can be freely verified by anyone. This way, trust among users and developers can be established. This is our way. By opening our source code, we ensure that our users have complete autonomy and independence from the Any Association. They retain the ability to analyze, compile, and run each software component on their personal machines without relying on external parties. This guarantees uninterrupted access to the tools and data they generate and store, shielding them from any potential restrictions. We see our products as an open ecosystem where the community can contribute in various ways, not only by committing to the core source code. Contributors can develop integrations, design themes, create use cases for the in-app library, or provide documentation and translations.

Yeah I really don't understand this why specifically the gaming communities seem to suffer from this problem more than others.
Perhaps it's not reported on as much in other hobby circles, or it's a confirmation bias on my part.
Regardless, it's really disappointing that these communities have this 'there I go death-threating again' stigma growing against them. Absolutely disgusting.

Yeah CD Keys is the only one that I buy from. I've never had a real problem, but sometimes preorder keys don't arrive in time to preload on Steam.

The discount currently doesn't show for me, but I can see the historical low was 10% off yesterday -- was the deal only for Launch?

I would also love a PC release of TLoU2. I keep my PS4 around for 2 games -- TLoU2 and Ghost of Tsushima. Hoping GoT is coming soon as well.

The PS4 is an amazing value for the number of fantastic exclusives that it has, even though that number is dropping. You can still play Uncharted 1-3, TLOU2, and Ghost of Tsushima just to name a few.

I always thought raw fish was filled with parasites and worms, which was why 'raw' fish is always flash frozen first. I'd imagine in a situation where the chances of dehydration are so high, risking food poisoning would be life or death.

I hope this means we eventually see other Battle.net games come to Steam, even as a showing of good faith. I'd love to see some of the older Blizzard games on Steam.

I agree, but certainly not all launchers are at the same maturity. I love Steam because it's so much greater than the sum of its parts -- community controller layouts, cloudsaves, Workshop, forums and community content, a marketplace. I do have other launchers with a fair share of games (GOG for example), but still it's not nearly the experience of Steam.

The exception to this is GOG -- They, and publishers/developers that release on their store, should be supported whenever possible.
Not perfect, but miles above the alternatives.

I believe they manage this because they have a monopoly on the world's supply, and they only 'loan' them to zoos on the condition that they still belong to China (including any offspring).
