Spytify works well. It works by recording the audio output of your pc while Spotify plays. It'll produce audio files with all the song info filled in.

Can also detect and mute ads if you don't have Spotify premium. If you do have it, you can also record with higher bitrate/quality.

I'm from germany. We recently went out for drinks with a researcher and a few students from the US. What I noticed about their communication was that it seemed a lot more ... well, practiced maybe? Like they were working in retail and they got stuck in their "customer service voice" :P . Also a bit more focus on showmanship. Didn't feel like you could get a genuine or personal answer out of them.

To be fair, 3% of traffic missing is not going to be their downfall. They managed to rid themselves of virtually all third party clients in one swoop and had to trade in only a fraction of their monthly engagement - they'll sell it as streamlining.

Doesn't matter that users from other instances can still see threads content. It's about threads accumulating the majority of users due to better infrastructure and then silencing smaller instances they deem a threat to them by defederating. It's only been a few hours and they've crossed 30 million users.

Started with LastPass, used it for 10 years. Switched to Bitwarden a while ago, would never go back.

Letzter Stand war glaube ich dass die unter-30-Jährigen nur 12% der Wahlberechtigten stellen... Selbst wenn jeder einzelne wählen geht reißt du da nichts. "Die Partei" hat mal einen provokanten Spot zu "Letztwählern" rausgebracht: "Horst entscheidet über eine Zukunft, die er selbst nicht mehr miterleben wird"...

Könnte man das Laub nicht einfach auch liegen lassen? Sollte meines Verständnisses nach bis zum Frühjahr ohnehin zersetzt sein. Ist in freier Wildbahn ja nicht anders... Oder sehe ich das falsch?

Vielleicht bin ich damals auch mit den Package Manager nicht so zurecht gekommen, das kann sein. War auch ein bisschen verunsichert dass es in einem Manager für die selbe Bitwarden Version mehrere verschiedene Leute gab die ihn zur Verfügung gestellt haben, aber alles community packages. Das war mir bei meinem "single point of failure" Passwortmanager nicht so geheuer. Bin dann letztlich beim AppImage direkt vom Hersteller gelandet, das hat natürlich funktioniert aber einfache Updates ohne die Einstellungen zu verlieren war damit nicht möglich.

Bezüglich des Umstiegs: Es gibt immer wieder so Bullshit-Momente mit Windows bei denen ich mir verspreche es nochmal mit Linux zu versuchen. Von allen anderen Bedenken bezüglich Windows und Microsoft mal zu schweigen. Dachte mir dass der Firmenlaptop ein guter Einstieg sei, da ich dort nur relativ wenige Funktionen brauche und ich mich so auch ohne dualboot mal ein bisschen damit anfreunden kann. Schwanke aber noch etwas, muss halt nicht nur stabil laufen sondern ich muss, wie du sagst, auch damit umgehen können.

That's my experience too. Often when I talk to people they have pretty moderate or left-leaning views that would fit well in any of our more left-leaning parties. However the majority of them still votes for our biggest conservative party, which openly promises and does the opposite of what they claim they would want in a conversation. Frustrating.

I think there is a lot of pride to be conservative coming into play here. Hard to explain, but I sometimes see this in my family. They proudly present their ignorance to show off their conservativism, hold it in front of them like a banner. When I inquire a bit deeper their views are often a bit more reasonable, it just feels like average boomers wanting to be cool by flaunting their ignorance, as weird as this sounds.
