I've been playing Halls of Torment as I mentioned last week. But I also set up a new partition exclusively for playing on my computer. I installed Garuda Linux, a distro built on ArchLinux for gaming.
As many others, I have a bunch of games on my Steam library which I've acquired via sales or Humble Bundles, and I've barely played them (if at all!). With this new setup, games are working great and I'm trying to check out more of them. I'm really surprised with how well non-native games work on Linux these days!
I've been playing the latest Killer Instinct, Ultra Street Fighter IV and Injustice: Gods Among Us fights every now and then.
I started a new game of Halo: Combat Evolved. I played this through years ago when I still double booted a Windows partition, and I remember having lots of fun with it. I also started Halo: Reach mostly to see how the latest entry worked on Linux (and was impressed!). I think I'm going to get proper organized and play them in chronological order if I decide to keep playing Halo. I also have the Bioshock collection, which I might also check out. And a few more I'll go through once I'm done with these! 😬

I went back to Echoes of Wisdom for this one echo I was missing: ::: spoiler spoiler There's a Lynel! :::
I got Transformers: Galactic Trails today on the Switch, so I'm going to be checking that one out. I hopefully will be playing some co-op TMNT: Cowabunga Collection too!
I've also been playing/will be playing some other stuff on Steam.

Really cool find and great work with the refurbishing.
I've picked up a 14" Bush CRT with a VHS player and a 29" Ferguson that people put out next to the rubbish bins. They both need repairs, but they kind of work. It's so cool to play the old consoles in these! And there's a special thing about playing a video cassette for those of us who grew up with it 😬

If you're in the UK, hive.co.uk does a similar thing too.

Yeah, I was surprised by the price. I was already convinced I wasn't going to get it, but for that price I just might 🤔 (I love the N64!)

Honestly I thought this would cost like USD 800 or something mental like that. For that price, I think I'm going to try to get it...

if that’s not GameCube, then I’ll eat all of my flat caps
We need to follow up on this with the author if it's not the Game Cube 😆

Yeah, it looks amazing, but obscenely expensive! I guess whoever bought the old costumes from the TMNT movie might consider getting this.

I have 3 8bitDo controllers and they're great. I even prefer them over the Switch Pro Controller. The Pro 2 is awesome, and my SN30 has so much use on it, I had to get replacement rubbers (for free, from 8bitdo) for the sticks since I wore them out!
However, the Nintendo 64 stick is very particular. I bought their N64 Mod Kit and joystick, and the joystick is ok. It's not great though. For games where the joystick precision is important, you can notice a big difference. And if I'm paying hundreds of dollars for a "premiun N64", I'd expect a better reproduction of the N64 stick than what they did with the Mod Kit. We haven't heard anything new since the first teaser, I have some hope. But the N64 controller stick is so particular... We'll see!

I'm looking forward to more information on the Analogue 3D. But I don't trust 8bitDo to do the joysticks justice. It's also going to be like a quadrillion hundred dollars plus shipping and import taxes. So it'll be a really hard decision 😅

I finished Zelda shortly after I posted my original comment. It was pretty good! There are some minor things that could be improved (an update hopefully?) but all in all it was quite fun. The puzzles are great, using the echoes and Tri opens up a lot of possibilities to solve them. It's very much a Zelda in essence, but with lots of new experiences and it does bring in some of the stuff from BotW and TotK into 2D Zelda. Feels like a great new title in the Zelda franchise and maybe it'll allow for Four Swords/Tri Force Heroes co-op kind of game where you can play with both Link and Zelda in the future. It's great to see Zelda evolving with the times, still providing fun games, although the story forces us to have our suspension of disbelief full on. It makes absolutely no sense to have a new rewrite of the story each game 😅 (What? Zelda didn't know who Link was?!?!).
I went back to explore after I beat the final boss. I was not even close to finding all the heart containers! And I need to see how many echoes I've missed (gotta catch 'em all!).
Halls of Torment came out of Early Access recently. Just a coincidence that I randomly ended up playing it to be honest. It's not the kind of game I usually go for, but it's been really fun!

Oh, I'm also playing this (on Steam)! It's really challenging at times, but once you survive to get to a certain level it feels really good and your character becomes really powerful. Very fun!

I think I'm at the end or very close to the end of Echoes of Wisdom. I will probably finish that on the weekend.
I've been playing Halls of Torment on Linux and it's quite addictive. I don't think I had played anything similar before, but my first impression was "a mix between original Gauntlet and Diablo". Pretty fun!
