Yeah, gaming on Linux is soooo much better than what it used to! That's also why I switched from GOG to Steam (even though I wasn't actually buying games on PC then), could only fight one battle, and as someone who only used Linux, Linux support was much more important than DRM free games.

My son just made me download Injustice: Gods Among Us on PS. Had it from PS+ monthly games ages ago. Have just downloaded it, haven't even played a single match. Who do you play with mostly? I just use any random character, my son uses Swamp Thing though.

I bought Halo: MC collection a while back, but my old laptop wasn't all that great, also, you don't get Xbox achievements when playing on Linux (due to easy anti-cheat thingy), but plan to finally play it now (got a new laptop with RTX 4070!). Need to finish Trails in the Sky: SC first though. Want to play from the first game though.

  • I can't enjoy Diablo anymore.
  • slimerancher slimerancher 2d ago 100%

That's actually same as me. I did play Diablo 2 tons of time. But that was just to finish the game with different characters and different skills combo.

Like one time with Amazon with bow skills, then next time with Amazon with Javelin skills. Also, since I couldn't afford many games back then, I would just re-install it every few months or year or so, and play through it once or twice.

Though, to be completely fair, I didn't even know you could keep playing after finishing the game. Thought it was some glitch that game restarted again 😀

So, not exactly same as you. I want to play with all the characters. At least once.

Ahan, nice. I couldn't be bothered to finish the first one either. Not sure I want to play the second one. I love the visuals, sound and the gameplay, but got tired of the narrative and the repetitiveness.

  • What games have relatively simple artstyles, but that are still hard to learn & reproduce?
  • slimerancher slimerancher 2d ago 100%

I haven't played Genshin Impact, but from what I recall from trailers, there are many anime game with similar art style. I am currently playing Atelier Ryza, and I believe it has similar art style too.

Even with Hades, I don't think the art style is difficult, but a lot of effort has gone into visuals of that game. There is lots of detail in everything. So, maybe in that sense it can said to be hard to reproduce.

The map isn't that big in Echoes of Wisdom, but yeah, there is more to do that I initially expected.

Heh, that's how Civilization is. Good luck!

I didn't play the full 13 trilogy, but I liked the first game.

Nice to hear that. I like how the game looks and want to play it.

Nier is next on my list. Planning to play Nier: Replicant on PS after I am done with Dust: An Elysian Tale and Batman: Arkham Knight (going to start it after Dust). Looking forward to playing it.

  • I didn't post here last couple of weeks, so a quick recap: - Finished **The Legend of Zelda: Echos of Wisdom**. Loved the game. Kind of Tears of the Kingdom light. Highly recommended. - Finished **Stick it to the Man**. 2D plaftormer-ish, where you have a hand sticking out of your head which can be used to traverse or read people's mind. A very humourous game, which can be completed in 5-6 hours. - Finished **Metro 2033 Redux**. I liked the narrative but didn't enjoy the gameplay, could be because the game is old, or maybe cause I am not a big fan of survival horror. Going to skip Last Light (watched it's video/story), but will give Metro Exodus a try. And now: Playing **Trails in the Sky: SC** as my main game, made quite a headway in chapter two, should be nearing the end of it, but still couple of side quests remaining. It's still early game though, so going to take me couple of months. Played a little bit of **[Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout](https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/atelier-ryza-ever-darkness-and-the-secret-hideout-switch/)**, game has opened quite a bit, still enjoying it, but not much to say about it yet. **[Dust: An Elysian Tale](https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/products/dust-an-elysian-tail-switch/)**, turned out to be a much smaller game than I expected. I think I played 3-4 hours of it, and according to saves, I am at around 45%. Don't know how it calculates the percentage, it's possible I may end the game even before 100%, let's see. Couple of thing I found interesting in the game. You can find either equipment or their blueprint as a loot. If you find blueprint, you need looted material to craft it. You can also buy the material, but in start shops only have 4-5 materials, so you have to first sell at least one of each material before it will start getting stocked in shops. Another interesting thing is leveling up stats. There are 4 different stats. Attack, Defense, "Magic" and Health. And your max stat can't be more than 4 level higher than your lowest stat. So you can't just put everything in attack or defense. My one big complaint is saves though, you can only save at specific points, and while save points are abundant, there are certain parts where you can die easily and once you do you have to load a previous save. It's a decade old game though, so I guess this can be forgiven. That's all from me, what about all of you? What have you been playing

I have heard mixed things about Ashen, some people liked it, some didn't. Haven't played it myself though. It's a soulslike with stylized grahpics and some random elements.

Yeah, Mirage is not a free to play game. Must be a trial version, with option to buy the full game.

  • slimerancher slimerancher 5d ago 100%

Well, I have never been to any of these, but have seen videos of some of these video game music concerts, and they look pretty cool. They usually have live orchestral music, so if like those and like these soundtracks, seem like fun.

I'll begin with the disclaimer that if you're already of the view that Mario Party is good and fun and not at all a worse-than-Monopoly-at-Christmas affair, Jamboree is exactly that and more of it

That sounds like a good thing. But then again I have never played any Mario Party game (or any other party game for that matter)

    Looks Nice.

Bithell makes good games. Haven't played any of their visual novels though.

They also released TRON: Identity couple of years ago. It's kind of a VN, with same visuals and probably even world.
