That is absolutely unhinged. I can't speak to airbnb policy or offer any advice there, unfortunately. But I will say if you took my advice, that will handle it on your end. I have absolutely gone through the same thing a few times. This is brutal, and I'm sorry you're going through this.

I swear by diatomaceous earth but it only works on things with a hard carapace or body. It does not work well on pests with soft bodies like ticks and bed bugs.

The insidius thing about bedbugs is that they aren't just in beds. Clothes, people, carpeting, cracks in the wall, baseboards, electric sockets. If there's enough where you can clearly see them along the edges of beds. It's too late, they're already everywhere else.

I should also say, I'm not sure what kind of luggage you have, if you have a Hardcase, a hiking backpack, or a cloth military type bag. But you absolutely need to make sure that's clean before you put them back in. If it can be tossed in a dryer, that's ideal but if it's a hardcase or a case with any kind of liner that you can remove you're going to need to spray the fuck out of it and let it dry, then wipe it out, or Scrub it by hand in a bathroom. Don't sleep on pockets in that bag, or any of your shoes. This process sucks and you don't want to have to repeat it or contaminate your next place.

I know you may not have access to a shower in between those loads of laundry but you're gonna feel a whole lot better if you can at least take a "truckstop bath" between swapping the contam and the heated clothes.

Lastly, any item that you do have to toss. Please, please, sharpie bedbugs on it so nobody pulls it out of the trash and tries to re use.

Bedbugs are a bear to get rid of, you're not going to successfully get rid of bedbugs in a rental. Period. That being said, you and all of your belongings are now contaminated. High heat will nuke them on your clothing. So here's what you can do do decontam yourself and not bring them to the next place and not trash everything you own. Take all of your luggage and drop that in a garbage bag. Grab a can of bed bug spray for your shoes and head to a laundromat with some spare plastic bags.

Remove one entire set of clothes. And throw them in a dryer on the highest setting or an hr. Take your shoes off and spray the fuck out of them outside. If you don't have a good spot to leave them to dry outdoors. Put them in a second bag and take them with you. Take the rest of your cloth belongings and toss them in a dryer on high for at least an hr. Throw away the bag, when the first set of clothes are dry and you're done handling any cloth that could be contaminated. Check through everything you own and make sure you spray down anything that cant be washed and that you're not missing any cloth items. Very carefully strip. Put your current clothes in a bag and, tie that fucker up tight. Set the contaminated bags far away from your current clothes and then nuke those in the dryer. This will get rid of them on your luggage and body. Bear in mind those Fuckers jump so be careful with the swaps. I have absolutely done this while homeless/on the road. It sucks but you don't actually have to throw everything you own away.

In the us. This varies across states but the stats remain overwhelmingly, Men are less likely to petition for custody, but when they do. Are more likely to get custody of children.

Once a restraning order or or dv charges are filed against a male in a custody dispute, they are more likely in the majority of states to get partial or full custody. According to a Supreme judicial court gender bias study.

And why are judges so harsh on sentencing women defending themselves or others?

It's also worth noting that the pedophile here was an ex cop. 40% of police families experience domestic violence. That study was done by cops self reporting their own violent behavior and abuse btw.

Men who kill their spouses for any reason serve an average of 2-5 year prison sentences, while women who kill their partners in self-defense serve an average of 15 years.

The deeper you delve into these statistics, the more harrowing the facts become.

Abusers are given light sentences while their victims are hit with the book, including women who have found out their partners have been sexually abusing children and snap.

None of this is to even start delving into the racial biases woven into the fabric of the US prison industrial system.

Another fun fact, approximately 77% of women incarcerated for murder were abused by their alleged victims.

That statistics follows approximately 77% of women incarcerated across the US legal system for any reason are themselves domestic abuse survivors.

Below is an article that highlights additional statistics and stories about the reality of sentencing disparities.

The tomatoes on the far right is one of a million batches of cherry tomatoes, they got cut in half and dehydrated some of them canned for sundried tomatoes in olive oil with basil and garlic. SOme get vacuum packed for use throughout the winter. The tomatoes in the wooden crate are the big boys that got canned for crushed tomatoes. Not pictured but the same week was a massive batch of pickled banana peppers, a bunch of purple cabbage that got sour krouted, a half bushel of jalepenos for cowboy candy, and a bunch of hot peppers that got dehydrated. Gonna make the rest of the super hots into hot sauce.

I can see your point here, but what is to stop somebody from begaving that way and just claiming to have an official diagnosis, rather than a self diagnosis to begin with? There's always going to be people who behave in bad faith in any group, People who are going to lie and manipulate are just going to do that. There's no way to avoid that, that doesn't result in alienating people with systemic barriers to diagnosis. With what we know about the bias in diagnosis to begin with as well as all the other reasons people have pointed out. I think rejecting self diagnosis as a valid means of finding support, and community is going to harm more people than keep out bad faith actors.

I met a Hexbear in person once, they were DISGUSTING and VILE They smelled like beans and mushrooms and when I shook their hand they gave me a small rat and told me it was "one for the road".

They had green skin like a goblin and had a shirt that said "Xi is my god".

I didn't feel safe. Be careful out there, and lock your doors too because I hear they steal your passive income.

  • I'm not sure if anyone is here from the reddit community, or remembers my tiny post about trying to find a way to package my dog food without using ziplock bags. But basically, I said I make my dog food in bulk, using vegetables that where dumpsterd, home grown, etc. At the time I had a 150 lb cane Corso, only. So portions where already pretty large, I would process and freeze vegetables as needed and make a batch of dog food all at once in a 30 ish gallon stock pot, then freeze them in flat packs of ziplocks. Since then I also have an incredibly high energy rescue pit mix puppy in my family. I was given allot of advice, all of which I tried out. The one that I thought would be the most promising was freezing them in sheet pan trays, scoring them. And separating them with wax paper. No lie. This worked horrible. I tried many iterations of that. Nothing worked out. I did end up finding a solution. I found large plastic Tupperware containers. They're about the size of casserole dishes. Just twice as deep. I fill those and pull 2 out at a time one to defrost on the porch and the other one to throw in the fridge for a few days. By the time the first one thaws out, the one in the fridge is about kicked. These containers are pretty cheap. And I don't expect them to last forever. But I'm very careful with them and so far it works great! I should also say they seem to hold up longer than the reusable vinyl/silicone bags I tried. Tbh for most applications, I would recommend using Mason jars over them for pretty much everything. I was so hesitant to buy plastic Tupperware that I ended up creating more waste in the long term.

I made a massive pot of chicken and vegetable soup, and a big ol pan of Mexican rice for a Saturday food distribution a few weeks ago. I'm just trying to level up to a full-blown cauldron, but for now, I use my canning pots for giant batches of soup like this.
