carbrained bullshit from the guardian as usual. do they wanna cite statistics or even a source on "many motorists, however, resent the changes"? of course not, evidence-free bothsidesing of vehicular deaths it is

this is an amazing study in how to go carefully, point-by-point, through something, and refute none of it.

There might be something on the wiki, in the meantime how I decide is:
- if it's a single expanse of poured concrete it's Concrete
- if there is dirt / grass between two parallel tracks of concrete (whether or not the tracks have any joins) it's Concrete Lanes
- if it's just concrete but there are seams where it's been poured separately, Concrete Slabs
And if it's anything else I skip.

buried in the middle of the article it says the Tsarist regime banned it and the ban was lifted (still by the Tsars) in 1904. haven't checked elsewhere.

~30% of covid cases are asymptomatic so even if everyone who felt sick cancelled (this would also include many people with colds), it wouldn't make "closed metal box with inadequate air filtration with unmasked strangers for hours" a good idea

"more diversity" includes people whose entire lives are politicized, so you have to pick between "more diversity" and "less politics", you cannot have both
There are a bunch of well-researched lists of US government atrocities (including ["List of Atrocities committed by US authorities"](https://dessalines.github.io/essays/us_atrocities.html) Lemmy's own [@dessalines@lemmy.ml](https://lemmy.ml/u/dessalines). But I can't find an equivalent for the UK government, just "5 worst atrocities" listicles, and this too-specific and incomplete list fof "war crimes" on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_war_crimes Well done UK government propaganda department, I guess 😕 Anyone know of a better list squirrelled away somewhere, or some resources which might help make one?
