I watched a doc on costco founder and he uses a business model that is different than any other retailer. The profit the corp records comes directly from subscription fees and cc's. All the merch in the store is marked up approximately 30% above cost and is used for all operating costs. So upper management's main job is run costco at %30. The end result is you can get the best value from costco over other retail stores. It isn't a huge amount but every bit helps.

Try this one from wally mart. Last one worked for two years before the heating element went out. Before I started using these I had a $25 mr coffee and when I took it apart it was identical and prob made by the same place in China. I also re use the filters once or twice scoop the old grounds out with a spoon. Main problem I'm having rn is 3X increase in coffee prices. Kroger used to have decent cheap house brand but they are trying to phase out their generic product lines. The new thing in grocery store biz model is replace generic house brand with a premium house brand. Kroger no label -> Kroger Private Selection, Meijer no label -> Frederik's by Meijer

I hope Iran puts a lid on this open discussion of nuclear weapons. One of the most dangerous scenarios in nuclear war game theory is when your opponent has nuclear weapons and you are developing them but do not yet have enough to assure mutual destruction of the enemy. I don't think it's even unique to Israel. USA used it to justify the use of conventional military invasion of Iraq in 2003. If they really thought Iraq had a few nukes we might have seen the first use since 1945. A similar thing played out between India and Pakistan when they were in a race to develop nukes.

rewatching vids of oct 7 reminded me of something I was thinking when it happened. Hamas was putting video out within a few hours of Al-Aqsa Flood start and I suspect they had crews on motorcycles collecting go-pro sd cards and porting them back into Gaza where Hamas propaganda warriors would edit and upload almost in real time. Like it wasn't just an add-on but a significant part of the operation. They were putting out video, info graphics and other related stuff in order to dominate the narrative as soon as possible. This might be the first time the term 'keyboard warrior' was a real thing and they were likely targeted by IOF in the subsequent bombing campaign. o7 to all the people behind the line.
